Hard Water or Soft Water? Which one is better?

Hi, today we'll talk about water. Most of us never in life know that there are two different types of water Hard Vs Soft found in different regions of the world. Let's talk about it.

water

Hard water is abundant in minerals like calcium, magnesium, and iron. On the other hand, soft water has a higher concentration of salt or sodium.

We cannot tell about the hardness and softness of water just by looking at the water. When we use water in washing machine or dishwasher than by noticing the signs of water on the item we can tell the hardness and softness of water:

Hard water will take time to form lather than soft water. Because of the formation of mineral deposits in the pipes, hard water will have less water pressure in the home than soft water. No mineral stain will form on clothes by using soft water.

Health Effect of Hard Water

There is no serious health effects of drinking hard water but it can dry our skin and hair. Also, the minerals in it can change the pH balance of our skin and weaken the skin for harmful bacteria and infections. On the other hand, drinking hard water can contribute to the daily intake of essential minerals and also have some cardiovascular benefits.

Health Effect of Soft Water

Soft water is unhealthy for people who have high blood pressure drinking soft water can affect blood pressure-raising because of high sodium content. Soft water is good for cleaning purposes. It doesn’t have many health benefits.

Hard water contributes to many health effects while soft water play role in cleaning purposes. Soft water is worse in drinking and has a salty taste than hard water.

 Water hardness and cardiovascular diseases

Water hardness means that water contains essential minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Studies show that in the places where the supply of hard water is available there are lower cardiovascular death rates found in that population than the population drinking soft water.

There are three hypotheses about this: trace elements normally related with hard water could provide a protective effect while tracing minerals (like lead and cadmium) available in soft water have harmful effects on health, the bulk components of hard water show a protective effect, perhaps by lowering intestinal absorption of toxic metals.

Hard water also contributes to the daily intake of magnesium. People who are living in hard water areas may have raised levels of magnesium in coronary arteries, bone, and myocardial tissue.

Conclusion

Water has a very important role in our daily life. So, we have to know the difference between hard and soft water to stay Healthy.
